Pretending that the recent new wave resurgence isn't a blatant rehash of the electro blips of the eighties is foolish. You ain't foolin' no one! Besides, it's not about stealing from the past, it's about music and style baby. If yer creating killer sounds spiced with subversive ponderings like the Prima Donnas, then I'm buying. Sadly there is no sign of the pouty ones on this self-professed "nu-wave electro compilation" (hah!). There ain't enough of Miss Kittin on this sprawling double disc fiasco to save the day. zzzzzz - hey that was a typing glitch, but it fits. Why take synthesizer robot pop so damn seriously? Everyone was snickering at Duran Duran and Kraftwerk back in the day doncha know? Kitsch sells, this won't.
