THE ELECTRIC KISSES
demo CD (self-released)
Reviewed by Alan Wright
The Electric Kisses are a Seattle trio consisting of local
scribe Mike Frame on guitar and vocals, his girlfriend Sarah on
bass, and Heidi on drums. They are also two of the nicest
"scenesters" I know, and now they're making some cool music
too. I loved Mike's previous band the Zillionaires in which he
sang and played bass. This is his first band that he's played
guitar in (I know, the bass IS a guitar, but it's not the same)
and his rudimentary playing style works for their style of
"budget rock." The sheer enthusiasm these three have for music
comes through in the fun subject matter of songs like "Kappa
Gamma Rock," about staying in and spinning records all day,
"B-side Of My Heart" and "Spinning Labels." The most negative
these funsters get is singing about their dayjob in "I Hate
Retail" and the irresistibly silly "Me No Like You."
