Half a Jai Agnish album is better than none, and after getting over the disappointment of the scant six tracks presented, it becomes clear that the other side of this split not only makes perfect sense, but completes the whole rather nicely. Agnish's vulnerable electronic folk sonnets swim effortlessly right into Adam Lee Rosenfeld's plaintiff guitar strums. There's a bit more tempo power to the latter tracks, which works well next to Agnish's dreamy tunes. Both have a definitely unique vocal styling and slip Christian content into their tunes, which brings Will Oldham to mind. Maybe next time around they could do a three way split. Oh that would be good.
