According to John Cusack in High Fidelity, this band sells itself. Liar. You'd think the Beta Band, with their fetching prog rock experimentations brimming with psychedelic fun would be the Pink Floyd of the new millennium, but so far, no. Apparently the bong crowd prefers to seek new grooves in ancient releases instead of risking reputations and their t-shirt collection on something brand spanking new. Nevermind, for the Beta Band plugs along, delivering yet another trippy masterpiece, full of salivating, layered riffs from bizarre instruments, dreamy processed vocals and bubbly percussion. The current masters of the bombastic four minute single, Beta Band trudge forth, and all they ask for is a fanatical following. Anyone?
