MODEL A
Transmission Lost (self-released)

The Net is crawling with web sites where you can find bands going it alone, putting out their own CDs and promoting the music to whomever they can attract to their Web site. Out there in Webland somewhere -- well, right here, actually --> www.modelamusic.com -- you'll find a band called Model A. They play a brand of rock that is heavy without being particularly hard, mysterious without being terribly morose and somehow powerful and fragile at the same time. Part of the formula for that magic trick is the combination of Brennan Rose's muscular drumming and Brandon Schilling’s delicate falsetto vocals. Within the context of Model A's near-psych rock, it's the perfect formula. Guitarist Patrick Wilson loves playing with textures, sometimes layering a chunky rhythm over a heavily distorted and reverbed wash, and bassist Thierry Sertyn provides thunderous glue on every track with a deep and resonant tone. This is music that can easily pull you in. Go with it.
