TERESA JAMES AND THE RHYTHM TRAMPS
Oh Yeah (Black and Tan)
Reviewed by Eric Steiner
Teresa James new CD on Black and Tan Records begins with "When The Winds Die
Down," which could be interpreted as a a political parable about "the good old
boys back in town." There's a baker's dozen songs that feature Teresa's strong
vocals, and even though this Texas transplant calls the Los Angeles-area home,
there's southern blues aplenty on On Yeah. If you haven't discovered Teresa
James and the Rhythm Tramps, do yourself a favor and give her a listen at
www.teresajames.com. You'll be in good company, along with Levon Helm, Kirk
Whalum, Delbert McClinton, and a host of top-flight musicians who've shared the
stage with her.
