BOBBY CONN

Under the production credits, after Bobby Conn's name it says "never again!" And who can blame
him, having to put up with such a perfectionist prima donna free spirit in the studio? Bobby
Conn is the Brian Wilson of our generation: a genuine nutbar capable of concocting moments of
brilliance from a jumble of notes. Actually Bobby has no peers - a man who truly is an island.
This four track offering is probably just a reminder that he's still out there, keeping us on
our toes. A couple of bombastic originals set the stage for a totally over the top version of
"Without You" sure to infuriate classic radio buffs. Not that they'll ever hear it, unless they
drop by accidentally and can't figure out the deadbolt once the door slams shut. For I will
play this beast to any unsuspecting victim who wanders into the lair. Beware, beware the wrath
of Conn! Uh, where was I? Oh yeah, the ep is a work of mad genius, but then you knew that. The
LP's coming. Get ready.
