THE FALCONS
Rebel Jukebox (Falcon Beach Music)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
The Falcons continue to mine the clean surf sound of the sixties, delivering
clever original music that wouldn't sound outta place on an old jukebox swimming
with The Ventures, The Challengers and The Fentones. As is becoming tradition,
one of their heroes pops up for a cameo. Last time around Ventures legend Nokie
Edwards joined in, and now Bill Bonney from The Fentones helps out on "The
Mexican." Respect from the original instro gods doesn't come easy, but The
Falcons earn it, offering up fresh takes on a genre submerged a long long time
ago (except in Japan of course, where The Ventures still rule). Tis only a
matter of time before the fellas cross the Pacific and become mega stars.
