This is the kind of music that initially comes off as somewhat attractive but quickly turns painful in its saccharine sweetness and syrupy sentimentality, consisting of the sort of alternative rock ballads that permeate TV shows like Dawson's Creek and the late 90210. It's hard to bag on this completely, though, because the music is put together well, the vocals are sung well, but the whole package is just so background-music-for-serious-teen-situations it makes my stomach cramp.
