LACRIMOSA
Elodia (Hall of Sermon)

Oh, boy - this has everything in it! It's like someone popped the top of my
head and picked out all my secret music vices and turned them loose in a
recording studio. First of all, Songs Sung in Languages Other than English.
I love them. Even that cheesy Spanish version of "I Will Survive" that got
played to death on Mexican radio when I was a kid. This album is sung in
German (or one of the many Germanic languages), which doesn't flow so
smoothly in some types of music but in this, this Andrew Lloyd Weber-esque
opera production, the choppy consonants just add force and metronomic power
to the whole production. Second, ooo, Andrew Lloyd Weber, and Things That
Sound Like His Productions. Need I say more? Electric guitars and classical
winds, a rock drum kit stuck in the middle of the freakin' London Symphony
Orchestra (yes, for reals). I'm going to be driving my neighbors insane
with this disc for a long, long time.
