Songster Ronny Elliott has one of those great, rough, Johnny Cash-type voices that could front even the worst bar band and make it palatable. Luckily, the band behind him on these tracks actually is good, comprised mostly of him playing guitar along with these songs about being on the road, playing in shit bars, lost love, and Jack the Ripper. I know Elliot's put out several of these records, and it's beyond me why he hasn't received more attention than he has.
