SONNY RHODES
A Good Day To Sing & Play The Blues (Stony Plain)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Sonny's touring van burned to a black crisp on a Connecticut turnpike. It's
enough to make a man sing the blues, and since Sonny'd already been down that
road for some forty years, there ain't much need for prompting. What's a little
tire fire anyway? Just tighten up that turban a notch, get that lap steel
contraption a wailin', and let the Texan blues flow.
