It's funny-with a cover like this, all dark purple with portraits of angels and fire and children, this either has to be heavy metal or goth - this time, it's heavy metal. Not too bad metal, either, with some awesome drum solos and grinding guitars and garbled dark metal lyrics. The only problem is that it's just so formulaic and predictable and sounds like a studied interpretation of heavy metal, down to the ballady, melodic slow intermissions between noisy chords and strangled vocals. I don't know if much innovation can even be brought to the genre at this point, but I have to believe metal bands can be a little more creative than this and still fit into the category.
