DEATH BY CHOCOLATE
Zap The World (Jetset)

Not only does Angie Tillet have the perfect name for her disenchanted mid sixties teenager persona, she also has the deadpan, couldn't care less vocal. Angie was a bored rich kid stuck in a laughless Austin Powers time warp on the last record, but has come out with flying rainbow colours on the sophomore disc. Though still stuck back in the mod London era, Tillet is now fully embracing and revelling the kitsch aspect only hinted at before. Proof is offered up in the instructional/commercial bit "Vox Wah Wah Pedal;" a hilarious bit of fun punctuated by Angie's monotone "it's the now sound, it's what's happening" - like she's a prisoner on the black and white shopping channel. This girl goes.
