LAURA MINOR
Salesman's Girl (Hightone)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Story goes that after years of scribbling poetry, Laura Minor met up with a guitarist who convinced her to transform her words to music. Hard to imagine she needed any coaxing, especially with that gorgeous voice. Cracker's David Lowery at the production helm directs a full bodied roots record littered with heartbreaking passages. Like a Lucinda Williams disc with a big beat. Easy on the ears, and makes ya think too. Laura Minor's a major talent (sorry couldn't resist).
