After years of neglect (poetry, spoken word, novels), Exene Cervenka ditches her hi-brow post X career and returns to the rock. This may not have the X moniker stamped on the cover but it sure as hell has the same sound. Cervenka's voice has smoothed around the edges a tad, but the fire still burns within. A little bit country, like the Knitters side project some years back, gives the record a nice swing effect. Nice to have Exene back, one of the few true punk originals worth a shit, proving she can write and sing vital material after all these years.
