Savage Young Sonics (Norton)
Reviewed by Alan Wright
Don't expect much of the Sonics' hi-energy garage-slam that made them famous
because this is really early stuff, recorded when they were aping The
Wailers. Not to say this isn't good, 'cause it is, it's just really lo-fi and mostly
instro. On the last four tracks, recorded after Gerry Rosalie joins, the
patented Sonics sound starts to kick in.
