DVD: Najica: Blitz Tactics

Due to a devastating series of natural disasters, the earth's existing surface has become more than 17% submerged in water. It is the charge of perfumier by day/secret agent by night Najica Hiragi to utilize her extraordinary sense of smell to catalog over 500 different smells and fight a growing world terrorist empire. She's a drop kicking, rapid firing bad ass with a delicate nose.

The plot line of Najica, however unfeasible it sounds, provides for a dazzling array of fast paced action sequences, James Bond-esque seductions and panty shots. In the four short 25 minute episodes contained on the Volume One DVD the number of panty shots must range into the low thousands. Whether amid a dance or fight sequence, they're all lean legged girls playing off of Najica's protagonist and they're all showing their all white cotton panties in full regalia.

Does this sound like too much? That all depends on what tickles your fancy. The Najica series isn't what could be categorized as "pornographic" anime - there aren't any explicit nudity or sex scenes - leaving the creators a free range to explore sexual fetishes galore. The battle scenes may be only average, but with skirts flying and legs akimbo, there is more than enough eye candy to hold the viewer's attention for 100 minutes.

DVD EXTRAS:
The Najica: Blitz Tactics Volume One series has a quite a few extras, including edited introduction and ending, production sketches, two audio commentaries and a pair of limited edition panties -- no kidding. It is only reasonable that a series so obsessed with animating its hero's underwear would include a white cotton pair of the real thing. Overall, the extra features supplement the four episode DVD quite admirably.
