FLAMETHROWER
self-titled (Dead Teenager)

Hi, we're Zeke. Just kidding! This really does sound similar to Zeke in that it's pretty fast, but it also reminds me of early Black Flag and Motorhead. Actually, this really smokes! The songs, while extremely fast and heavy, are really catchy and have hilarious lyrics. Take, for instance, "I Want It All," which rhymes "I want a hemi" with "I want a spot on Letterman with Lemmy." That's fucking brilliant! "Getting Signed" lashes out at sell-out trendoid bands whose only agenda is major label stardom. In "Drop Out" they sing (scream?) about those shows where hardly anyone shows up and you wonder why you bother. Yeah, these guys write biting, cynical, angry lyrics and have the chops to back it up with powerhouse tunes. This is really, really good!
