QUESTION OF HONOUR
Bound (Strange Hues Productions)

Reviewed by Eric Steiner

I don't know what it is about certain Midwestern bands. It's gotta be a vocal thing, all layered harmonies and stuff, like back in the day (read: 70s) with Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Off Broadway, or the original Styx line-up.

Well, I hope that you get the idea that I like Question of Honour's latest CD, because it continues a tradition of melodic pop that just won't quit. Ottawa, Illinois' Question of Honour leads off with a memorable "Teacher Is" and this cut sets the stage for 11 cuts of powerful rock that have their roots in Led Zeppelin and the www.strangehues.com boys' own earlier CD, Canopic Jars that I compared to Guns N Roses more than three years ago on these screens. I'm as enthusiastic about Bound as Canopic Jars.

Question of Honour are brothers David and Hugh Wygmans on drums, vocals, and guitar, with Ken Pitchford on bass, and together, they've put out a record with melodic hooks that sunk into me for days, like "You Started It" and "Dreame."

Track List:

Teacher Is * Save Your * Last Prisoner * I Don't Believe * Lost * The Past * Let's be Friends * I'm Gonna * Dreame
