SHERRIE AUSTIN
Love In The Real World (Arista Nashville)

Talent show success landed a 14 year old Sherrie Austin an opening spot for Johnny Cash's 1985 Australian tour, but it was a role on TV's "The Facts Of Life" that brought her to the US three years later. When that role had run its course and the hits just weren't coming from her LA based efforts, Austin moved to Nashville and formed a partnership with composer/producer Will Rambeaux. The two became a potent songwriting team, and she broke through with 1997's Words, the debut album that became a country dance club favorite.

Her sophomore album, Love In The Real World, produced a solid single hit in "Never Been Kissed" a month before the album's release, and it's likely to be only the first of several strong singles from the album, which features eleven Austin originals, written alone or in various partnerships, primarily with Rambeaux. The songs feature solid, mature lyrics delivered in pop flavored contemporary country settings.

Austin's talent is abundant, and this album promises to be the one that boosts her career to the next level. Fans will no doubt have snapped it up on it's release date, but if you're a fan of the "Young Country" sound that hasn't discovered Sherrie Austin yet, there's not much time to be among the first. There's star power in every cut, and Love In The Real World is one of the best albums of its kind I've heard this year.
