HUGH DILLON REDEMPTION CHOIR
The High Cost Of Low Living (Ching)
Reviewed by John Sekerka
Hugh Dillon was so fabulous in Bruce McDonald's band epic "Hard Core Logo" that it was hard to believe that his personal rock and roll life (as leader of the Headstones) was kind of a mediocre one. All that is about to change. Obviously restricted under the band guise, Dillon steps out with a confident record that is as powerful as it is (surprisingly) diverse. With his deep, charismatic voice up front where it belongs, Dillon settles in with a great mix of roots rockers, bluesy bar numbers and out and out shit-kickers. All memorable tunes to boot. Now let's see if he follows his Logo character and does a Kurt Cobain. Oops, did I just ruin the movie for everyone? Damn.
