O.A.R.
In Between Now and Then (Lava)

Yes, son, O.A.R. have it all. They've allegedly
accumulated a "grassroots following" musicianship
worthy of studio headz (meaning they're pros) and
a good label behind them, with enough dough to
issue a limited edition DVD along with this that
has the band doing a few tunes live. O.A.R. have
that dub/reggae-rock/Police feel on songs like
"Dareh Meyod," a diet Dave Matthews shtick almost
everywhere else, and acoustic guitar numbers for
your dad:
"Don't let the world tell your mouth that it
must say...Nothing ever came from a mouse
anyway!"
Play it loud enough, and he'll want a copy for
his golf buddies, so they can make the caddy with
the angry titties finally notice them. Despite
how catchy the opening of "Right on Time" was,
the minute Whatshisname started singing, and the
clichés hit me in the face as though they were
duct-taped to chopper blades, I had to press
stop.
