What? One of the guys from New Bomb Turks put this compilation together? Wow, I'm shocked. Okay, I'm only being a little bit facetious. Actually, more strange, playful tracks like "How Can I Get Through" (The Cuts) could mask Eric Davidson's involvement quite cleverly, but when you're smacked in the face with sweaty subterranean rockers like Lost Kids' "Watch Out For Spiders" and wattage cannon assaults like Gypsy Witch's "High 'n' Low," you don't need a fingerprint kit to make the I.D.. I'm not sure what the connection between Davidson and these bands might be. Did each of them play a gig or twenty with New Bomb Turks, or does he just happen to be hip to the energetic lo-fi explosive known as Geraldine and the hair-raising speed trip provided by Columbian Neckties? Either way, we're hip to it now, and happily so. So maybe I'm not shocked, but I sure as hell am rocked. Not a bad thing to be.

Track List:

Lay Down and Die (Rock'N'Roll Soliders) * High 'n' In (Gypsy Witch) * Set Me on Fire (Baseball Furies) * How Can I Get Through? (The Cuts) * Watch Out for Spiders (Lost Kids) * 2 East (Chargers Street Gang) * Nothin' Good (High Beams) * On the Right Side (Scat Rag Boosters) * Can't Afford the Seven (Geraldine) * Your Chains (Diverters) * You'll Never Get Away With My Heart (Hunches) * Brown Bag Blues (Mystery Girls) * WTNC (Exxon Valdez) * She's on My Radar (Columbian Neckties) * Comadosed (Blowtops)
