Wrecks From The Highway (JSNTGM)
Reviewed by Alan Wright
Named after the 1960s model Camaro, these Brits combine a bunch of
different influences into a pretty intoxicating mixture. Like other bands on the
JSNTGM (Just Say No To Government Music) label, they have a leftist political
agenda: although their lyrics are more in the hot cars/hot girls mode, they state that they like to play for social causes. Their song "FBI Man" address covert government operatives, while "Lights In The Sky" seems to be about UFOs.
Overall, this is some really good nitro-fueled rawk that defies pigeon-holing due to the constant collision of different musical styles. It's rockabilly, punk, country, blues and garage rock all at the same time!
