PATSY CLINE
The Heart Of A Legend (Madacy)
Reviewed by Shaun Dale
Just thirty when she died in a plane crash in 1963, there's no doubt a 'what
if' factor in the legend of Patsy Cline, but the music released during her
brief turn in the limelight is the source of that speculation, and all the
justification the legend requires.
The Heart Of A Legend offers 22 tracks spread over a pair of discs that are
a fine testimonial to the talent that made Patsy Cline the queen of country
music with considerable star power in the pop market as well. Some of the
songs, "Walkin' After Midnight," "Crazy,' "Sweet Dreams (Of You)," are
familiar favorites today. Some are less often heard, and perhaps only
familiar to the hard core base of Patsy Cline fans. All of them, though,
are worth hearing again and again, and this collection is a fine addition to
the Patsy Cline catalog and an excellent selection for your record
collection.
