RADIOMAN

Radioman are a Medford, Oregon metal power trio with a big sound, meaty hooks and some very nice melodic ideas to boot. Guitarist/vocalist Doug Striley can take both his instruments from quiet fragility to explosive brutality in the flick of a switch, propelled by a bass player named DMF and a drummer who apparently just wants to be called Scott. They can call themselves Frick and Frack for all I care, as long as they can play, and they play their balls off. They play loud and heavy, making metal the way it was made in the darker, non-glam sectors of the mid-80s, and while not every composition here is a winner, enough hit the mark to make me play this CD quite often. This is just the debut and they've already got some explosive stuff happening. Most definitely a band to watch.
