TAMARA WILLIAMSON
All Those Racing Horses (Aporia)

Reviewed by John Sekerka

Tough to get into the sombre mood which this record requires when the dispenser is a spunky lady with a smarmy sense of humour. But when the dedication is to people who've been murdered, you know there won't be many knee slapping moments. This isn't Mrs. Torrence anymore, it is Tamara Williamson, and she's getting all serious. Serious in content and serious in music. It's a sweeping record, lapping at the ears in a soothing fashion, but then there's the words, and they strike low and hard. Come prepared.
