TERRY SILVERLIGHT
Wild!! (self-released)

Reviewed by Erick Mertz

Terry Silverlight's album Wild certainly has a big, snazzy jazzy sound and like a Saturday night house blues band, he isn't afraid to show it off. Silverlight is the drummer on each track, but he brings an all-star cast to the fold including such names as Paul Shaffer, Edgar Winter and Chuck Loeb. The slow, dreamy concoction "Windsurfing" sounds like an 80's score to a film directed by Herbert Ross where a young psuedo-executive falls for his boss's wife - or Aunt - at the same time as a more ideological Junior executive more his own age.

Most of Wild has a similar feeling of being a score from days of yore. The songs are long and expansive and expertly produced by Silverlight and Will Lee. For fans of barroom jazz and film score styled blues, this is a must have.
