Local warming may be a plea from these Finnish boys. The recent rock explosion from Northern Europe has more to do with American garages than American beaches, but don't tell Laika and the Cosmonauts. In an apparent attempt to stay warm, they've been making super wavy guitar noodle tunes for a grand decade. The latest slab veers more into the atmospheric lounge and spy side of instrumental mayhem, with more organ and less string bending. Not the happy go peppy records of days past, but musically a step forward.
