DeNunzio reminds me a lot of Modest Mouse, down to the kind of rambling, mismatched flat ways the vocals are delivered, with a little more poppier beat moving the songs along. Just like Modest Mouse, too, the songs are a little hard to get into at first but once you get your head to adjust to the rhythm and textures of the music, it all makes perfect sense and is perfectly delightful to listen to. My only quibble is that they do sound so much like Modest Mouse that I'm having a hard time finding anything to really distinguish this band from any of the other clones of that highly-influential band, but if you don't have that reference point to work off of, this sounds pretty nice.
