Blame It On The Kids (Vinyl Warning)
Reviewed by Alan Wright
I liked the EP I heard by these youngsters awhile back, but their debut long-player has really grabbed me. For a group comprised of 14 and 15 year old teenagers, they are quite tight and solid sounding. With a healthy dose of Ramones/Heartbreaker/Dead Boys influence, they pen extremely catchy songs like "You Ain't Gonna Be That Pretty No More" (hmmmm, perhaps grammar isn't their strong point) , "We've Come For Your Children," "Boppin' At The Morgue" and "Heartful of Napalm" (which borrows the Sex Pistols' "I Wanna Be Me" riff). A good sense of silly humor prevails on tunes like "Mommy Is A Commie" and "I Could Love You (If I Didn't Hate You)."
