Strike Anywhere seem to be one of the few hardcore punk bands doing anything interesting to these ears these days. Like fellow Virginians Avail, they mix fast tempos and radical tempo changes with lots of melody. They also kind of remind me of early AFI, especially in the way the singer shifts from really throaty singing to more melodic in the songs. Good mix of socially conscious/political lyrics, too.
