Actually two albums - big fat shiny cd slabs that is. That's important because Ryko was the first all CD company then, and managed to quickly find a niche with excellent reissues and maverick new releases. Great history, which makes good reading, but seldom transfers to a coherent aural whole. No exception here, as David Bowie is followed Sugar, who are followed by The Misfits, who are followed by Morphine, and on. What we have here is a great couple of hours of diverse radio, cleverly sequenced to minimize jarring effects, covering a gamut that is perhaps wider than any record company could offer. Comes with a great read along booklet to boot. Perfect for educatin' the misguided youngsters.
