Christophe (pronounced Kris-toff) Chuvan is 24 and resides in the exotic little
town of Sydney, Australia (well, little is relative). Nope, he's not tall,
blonde, handsome and he doesn't surf either but hey, nobody's perfect. Born in
New Caledonia, a small French territory off the eastern coast of Australia,
Christophe grew up in that little tropical paradise surrounded by relatives who
all played guitar and were all Beatlemaniacs. Saying that he suffered some
trauma from the experience is an understatement, since the Fab Four constituted
his self-imposed musical regimen until the age of 16! Fortunately, running out
of Beatles songs to learn on the guitar triggered the urge to actually go and
listen to something else once in a while.
Eventually, Chris was given the choice between doing a degree in France, where
it snows, it stinks and it's polluted, or in Queensland, Australia, where you
could see the waves crashing on the beach from the campus' high grounds. From
his own account, he should have picked the first option ("I might have got
around to do some study then").
He likes to think of himself as a classic rock'n roller evolved into something a
bit more "metallic": he came to Pantera and Metallica by way of Led Zep, Deep
Purple and Aerosmith, to which he got by way of the Stones and the Beatles. As
for what he does, he claims to be a software developer/consultant although the
amount of time he spends writing insanely long posts on various newsgroups and
mailing lists doesn't seem to leave him much time to do anything else,
especially when that "anything" can classify as "work".
